One of the best feelings in the world is when you get to see people you served before and they still remember you, and when they see you they'll shower you with warm smiles and hugs.
Last night, I joined Papa to visit my 7 cousins who were participants in the Youth Camp & my younger brother, Franz who was in the Music Min. We were only supposed to bring bed sheets, visit, watch the presentations and stuff. As we arrived in the venue of the camp, there was this youth who immediately said 'Si Ate Meann, Oh! Hi Ate Meann'' then he waved, I waved in my surprise to see that it was Leslie (he because he is a male). So I got inside, the couple coordinators were very surprised to see me, as I got in the kitchen, I saw Tita Estella and she was almost in tears, Tita Estella was my very first coordinator in the community, that was in KFC. And there was another Tita, (sorry I forgot the name) but her kids Marian and Zy were the ones I used to handle during my KFC Ate days, and she was also happy to see me, Hi and Hello, and hugs and hugs and hugs. Some passed by me, (i think they're part of the service team saying Hi in their very shy faces). I saw Marian, now a YFC Leader, she was also a KFC before which I got to handle her and as when we saw each other in the camp, ahh couldn't help but hug her. I think Marian was the one responsible for the technicals in the camp. I saw her younger sister Zy, who was one of those big chikitings I also handled before, and she was a facilitator in the camp. I am so proud. there were very familiar faces, although I didnt know their names. Another came over me, and that was Lemuel, from Sto. Tomas, He used to be a part of my KFC Team, and I was sooo surprised that he'd be delivering the Talk 4. I was talking to Lemuel, and we were quite observing the camp, the service team were just bumming (some), some are doing their works as the service team, some just roamed around, just adding to the noise. The session area was a bit of congested, making the participants complain, complain and complain, and to add on that was the sizzling hot night. My friend Jeboi Paras came only to visit the camp, too. We were very eager to make a difference in the camp since we find it very m.a.g.u.l.o.. So I volunteered to talk with the participants and arrange their seats so the noise will be minimized. It was so good of them that they listened to me, I gave some pieces of advise, because once, I was also like them, attending a Youth Camp at the age of 12. I had a good time talking to them though, (maority of the participants were former KFCs) and then.. I didnt know (whch was not in the program) I will be the one to introduce the next speaker, Lemuel, I asked Lemuel to where he is now, and... in my surprise he was currently the Cluster or Sector Leader in their area, and I was really surprised. Wow. After I introduced Lemuel, Jeboi and Rigor (the youth camp head) asked me to join the worship. Its a worship you do before the Baptism, well I was glad that the songs to be sung were old songs (hahahhaha). And then the worship started, there were young ones who raised their hands, closed their eyes, some just kept on talking, or whatsoever. But still, I smiled and thank the Lord for another opportunity to be there, I was so inspired by those youths. When I was at their age, I didnt act like them, I was serious in service, in worship and stuff, but to think that these kids think less maturely than me, I am just so glad that they're opening their hearts for something like that. After the worship, I was left in the room with the service team and two other guys plus Jeboi. One guy said, ''Ate Meann, hindi mo na ako tanda no''. I knew the guy, very familiar to me, I knew he was a former KFC, so I said, "Kilala kita sa mukha pero di ko na alam pangalan mo, diba nakakasama ka namin sa mga kids camp noon''. And He was Paul. When i asked him to where he is now, he said he is the current cluster leader of their area, and I was again in a.w.e and at the proudest state. Got the chance to share my so called words of wisdom in the team, I told them first and foremost not to judge others, never judge others. 2, I told them that the real world and battle begins outside the YFC, take it from me. 3, Wherever they may go, whoever they may encounter ahead, never get tired of doing good things. It was almost midnight til they hit the bonfire session, it was a fun night of sharing what you know about service.
In the first place, my feet brought me there, and I was just so happy to have gotten there. Very very happy. Still, nothing beats May 24-25, 2003, My Youth Camp. I had the most memorable co-participants, service team and Youth Camp heads. And I just hope those attending the camps will have their most memorable Youth Camp too.
God is really Great. I wish I could tell in this blog everything that happened that night. Everything was very moving.
I arrived home with a huge smile on my face, and a great feeling in my soul. Its a one dose of joy in your soul.
Thank You to those who remembered me, thank You. That means the world to me.
